Assam Jail Inmates Gets Involve in a Skill Development Programme

Bongaigaon district jail Inmates gets first hand training in a three month skill development course.

A three-month extensive course in skill development had started in Assam’s Bongaigaon district. This program is focused especially for the jail inmates which further aims in providing a fruitful environment during their sentence term. 

It could be mentioned that such sessions would further enhance in building up their employability skills with an add up potentials for each of the inmates when they get released after their said term.

Deputy Commissioner Adil Khan reiterated that such short courses are been tailored keeping in mind to built up a holistic perspective by focusing not only on their reformative areas but also to regain that lost humane nature in all the inmates.

According to the Deputy Commissioner jail is not a place to torture nor to make the inmates suffer but rather it is a space where each inmate gets transformed into a sound human being to lead a dignified, peaceful life.

The inmates would be further given a 30-day yoga training which would help them cope with different kinds of psychosocial issues creating as a support system within oneself.
