West Bengal and North East States to Receive Heavy Rainfall During Next Two Days with Fani Hitting Over The Coastal Areas

With ‘Fani’ prevailing over the coastal areas, heavy rainfall expected in West Bengal and north east states during next two days.

Extremely severe cyclonic storm “FANI” to strike Odisha coast during 3rd May afternoon. Cyclone alert for Odisha, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh Coasts had been declared. 

Rainfall at most places with heavy falls at isolated places, very likely over coastal and adjoining districts of West Bengal is expected on 3rd and heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places, extremely heavy falls at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal and heavy at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim is expected on 4th May 2019. The sea conditions are very likely to be very rough to high along and off West Bengal coasts during this 2nd -4th May 2019.

Damages are expected for east & west Midnapur, south & north 24 Parganas, Howrah, Hooghly, Kolkata, districts of West Bengal.

Arunachal Pradesh and Assam & Meghalaya is also to receive rainfall at most places with isolated heavy falls very likely over Arunachal Pradesh and Assam & Meghalaya on 4th and 5th of this month.
