The State Health Society has Observed the World Population Day on 11th July 2019 at Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 Naharlagun district of Arunachal Pradesh

The Chief Guest at the event was the minister health and family welfare Alo Libang.  While speaking at the event he expressed his concern considering the increasing population is a very serious issue. He said observing World Population Day is not about happiness rather about the concern. He said we need to focus on how we can check and control over the catastrophic growth of population which is leading towards economical imbalance in India and across the globe.

Dr. A. Yirang Director, Family Welfare, has informed that the world population has reached 7.023 billion. China is the most populous country has reached 1.41 billion population and India making it the second-most populous country. It has been estimated by the experts that India’s population will overtake China’s population by the year 2030. Therefore, it has become a serious concern for all to check and control rapidly.

To bring this to effect awareness campaign on education, medical methods like the use of a contraceptive tablet, becictomy, tubectomy, etc were encouraged to adopt and follow. Even he shared how maintaining a small family is a happy family and how it works as a support to balance economic growth and can thereby improve the quality of life.

The Minister released the book ‘Arun-Aachal’ a book on adolescent health on the occasion. The other highlights of the programme were video showed on family planning, skit performance. Later the minister flagged off a motor bicycle rally at Kendriya Vidyalaya School entrance gate under the National Vector Borne Control programme.
