Kaziranga National Park is located in the Golaghat and Nagaon districts of Assam, the northeastern state of India.  It is home to the great Indian one-horned rhinos and tigers, along with other species of flora, avifauna, and fauna. Due to recent floods in Assam, a large chunk of the forestland of the Kaziranga National Park has submerged underwater. 

Recently, the National Park was in the news not due to floods but due to the arrival of a new guest in one of the villager’s home.  Residents of Harmati village in flood-affected Kaziranga suffered a shock to see a Royal Bengal tiger relaxing in the bed of one of the villagers. 

The tiger not finding any shelter, and moving away from the flood-affected park entered Rafikul’s house which is situated along National Highway 27 at around 7 a.m to have his breakfast and is still enjoying his stay in a majestic way. 

Looking too disturbed, he jumped across the wall of a scrap garage and took refuge in the darkroom of Rafikul. The Wildlife Trust of India shared pictures of the tiger on Twitter. In the image shared on Twitter, the Royal Bengal Tiger is seen taking rest on a bed and peering from a hole ripped into the wall.

As several attempts by the villagers to get the animal out of the house turned futile, the villagers contacted the forest officials. The officials have arrived at the spot and are trying all means to relocate the tiger to a safe place.
