8 Air Routes Made Functional Under UDAN Scheme

The Central Ministry had launched the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme to stimulate regional air connectivity and make air travel affordable to the common people

On October 21, 2016, the Central Ministry had launched the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme to stimulate regional air connectivity and make air travel affordable to the common people. 

After this already 2 years and ten months passed, the success rate of this scheme has just crossed 5%. 

Under Regional Connectivity Scheme Udan out of 194 operational air routes, only 8 routes have become functional.  According to Civil Aviation Ministry since Friday 8 Air Routes Made Functional Under this Scheme. The 8 routes include Mysore-Hyderabad, Hyderabad-Mysore, Goa-Mysore, Mysore-Goa, Cochin-Mysore, Mysore-Cochin, Kolkata-Shillong and Shillong-Kolkata.

A total number of 705 routes have been awarded under the UDAN scheme up till now by the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
