A youth from Manipur will pedal a solo cycle ride across seven countries to spread different global messages.
Son of Chingtham Ingocha Singh and Chingtham Ongbi Tampakleima from Khongjom, Thoubal district Ji Ingobi Chingtham, age 21 plans to self-sponsor his journey if the state government who he has appeal for financial assistance fails to extend help.
Ingobi will be pedaling with a Java brand cycle, costing around Rs 60,000, spread with the messages of, “one world one family (global integration), Act East Policy, Women Empowerment, Climate Change, Respect Your Identity and other will respect you”.
Briefing media on Thursday regarding his proposed journey, Ingobi said, “growing up along with two of my brothers without a sister has taught me a lesson to spread the message of women empowerment, since we as a man could not help our mother during her women needs”.
He added that he had once before went on a solo ride from the Manipur to Delhi in April 2018 with the theme ‘Beti bachao Beti Padhao.’
As a part of his world tour initiative, Ji Ingobi Ching will begin his first phase world tour from the western gate of Kangla at the capital of Manipur on August 3 where he will be pedaling to different parts of the state for 16 days.
After the completing his solo ride in the state, Ingobi with an estimated budget of around Rs 3 to 4 lakhs for the solo ride will leave the state on August 19 for Myanmar where he will be pedaling Mandalay Yangon and he will be participating different intereaction programme in the country during his stay for 30 days.
On September 18, he will begin his journey for Thailand to participate and represent India in Global Goals 2.0 International Youth leadership form September 30 to October 9. Later on September 18, he will depart from Thailand and proceed towards Malaysia where he will be pedaling about 870 kilometer in 19 days with a plan to reach Singapore in November 8.
Ingobi informed that he will be tapped with a GPS to calculate the distance he cover and to record his movement throughout the journey
