President Ram Nath Kovind has been awarded the National Order of Merit by the President of Guinea for his exceptional contribution to the advancement of overall relations and development of mutual cooperation between India and Guinea and for promoting friendship and partnership between the people of both the countries. 

Three MoUs were signed between the two countries. Cooperation in the Field of Traditional System of Medicine, e- Vidhyabharati – e-Aarogya Bharati Network Project and Renewal Energy. 

The President also announced a Line of Credit of US$ 170 million for the Water Supply Project of Conakry city. 

During the award ceremony, President Kovind said, dedicated the award to the people of India and Guinea for their friendship.

Earlier, The President had extensive talks with his counterpart.

During the delegation-level talks, a range of areas of mutual interest in bilateral, multilateral and regional fields have also been discussed.
