Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Second Amendment) Bill 2019 has provisions of a 10 percent reservation for Economically Weaker Sections among the general category that has also been introduced in Lok Sabha.

Home Minister Amit Shah has introduced the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill 2019 in the Lok Sabha.

Introducing the Bill, Home Minister said that Jammu & Kashmir is an integral part of India, Therefore, the Indian Parliament is competent to make laws for the state.

On the accusation of Congress to break rules in this regard, HM Shah asked Congress to stop blaming and clear their stand on Jammu & Kashmir.

Home Minister also explained the rule position in this regard to the Lok Sabha. He said no one can stop us from making laws for Jammu & Kashmir.

Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Second Amendment) Bill 2019 has provisions of a 10 percent reservation for Economically Weaker Sections among the general category that has also been introduced in Lok Sabha. 

The house passed the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Bill, 2019 by voice vote. The Bill seeks to make Jammu and Kashmir a Union Territory with the legislature and Ladakh Union Territory without legislature.

The Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Second Amendment) Bill 2019 having provisions of 10 percent reservation for Economically Weaker Sections of upper caste in the state was also passed by the upper house.
