“Entrepreneurs can generate employment for unemployed youths” said minister of commerce and industries Manipur, Th. Bishwajit while inaugurating Manipur’s only private enterprise dealing in repairing and producing power device on September 16 at Bishnupur district, Manipur. 

Golden Trans Power, an industry set up in 2018 at Tera Urak Industrial Estate, Bishnupur district Manipur to repair and produce small medium and large power projects was officially inaugurated by minister of commerce and industries. Golden Trans Power owned by Hero Thokchom is a slowly emerging name in the field of small, medium and large power projects and infrastructure developments. It was set up for developing industrial growth in Manipur with an aim to cater the requirements of the state government along with northeast region and the nation as a whole.

The minister appealed the Golden Trans Power to manufacture their products at par with international standards so that it possess a quality which can be exported even to neighbouring countries such as Myanmar. “If that can be achieved, products from Manipur can dominate the neighbouring countries before products from other country dominate it,” he said.

He also said that the Manipur needs  transformation since it was going in the wrong direction for long. As such the state should make it’s own path to bring a transformation. Entrepreneurs in the state should also tie up with other states as a joint venture so that different resources of the state can be utilized effectively.

Mission for Economic Empowerment of Traditional Artisans and Craftsmen (MEETAC) a new initiative of the present government was also launched this month to provide unified access to the traditional artisans of hills and valleys for design development of their crafts and arts as per global standards and to increase market demand for their products along with the motive to preserve the culture and heritage of the state, he added.

Saying that unemployment is a big challenge in the present society, Biswajit also said, if more entrepreneurs come up and employ people in their ventures, it will minimise the unemployment problem in the state to a certain extent.  

He continued saying that entrepreneurs should also roam the world and observe different works taken up by other countries and implement the same in the state. Speaking as the chief guest of the inaugural session, Bishwajit said that he will initiate a survey to chalk out means to construct a road which will connect all the valley districts in the state for easy transportation.

Chairman of Manipur Pollution Control Board L. Radhakishore Singh while delivering the president speech said that the government will make efforts to approve Golden Trans Power which is the only industry in Manipur manufacturing power projects and infrastructure.
