District Sports Officer, Asekho Talie has informed all interested sports aspirants that the Department will be organizing a district level “Catch Them Young” U-14 tournament-cum-selection of talented player for state level tournament.

The selection will be held at local ground Zunheboto, in Nagaland from 25th-27th September 2019 from 10:00 am onwards. The District Sports Officer also informed that the players born after 15th October 2005 are eligible to participate in the tournament for which, Aadhaar card is mandatory for all participants.     

The list of events to be undertaken in the tournament are Football for only boys and in athletics where both boys & girls are eligible. 100, 200, 400 mtr race; 4 × 100 mtr relay; Long Jump; High Jump; Shot Put are the entries for which one can come forward.These grassroot talent identification will go a long way in grooming the young talent available in our country and also shall engage youths and young minds to a positive and constructive mindset.
