Kolkata Receives Green Mobility Award

The award is bestowed as Kolkata will introduce 5,000 electric buses and electrify Ganges River ferries by 2030

Firhad Hakim, the mayor of Kolkata and minister in charge of urban development and municipal affairs in Government of West Bengal received the Green Mobility Award At C40 Global Mayor Summit held at Copenhagen in Denmark between 9th October to 12th October 2019.

C40 Cities connects more than 90 of the world’s leading cities to take bold climate action and build a healthier and more sustainable future. Representing 700+ million citizens and one quarter of the global economy, mayors of C40 cities are committed to delivering on the most ambitious goals of the Paris Agreement at the local level, as well as to cleaning the air we breathe.

Mayor of Kolkata, Hakim in a tweet stated ‘I’m humbled as i received the Green Mobility award at the @c40cities Global Mayor’s Summit’.

The award is bestowed as Kolkata will introduce 5,000 electric buses and electrify Ganges River ferries by 2030.
