Assam Rifles mitigates drinking water crisis

The villagers acknowledged the efforts of the Assam Rifles

Due to ongoing lockdown and precautions being taken by the local population in fighting against COVID-19, villagers have been facing problems meeting their basic daily essentials. In this context, Company Operating Base Waikhong (contacted for the second time) and Pangaltabi of Kakching Battalion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) was contacted by the villagers of Waikhong and Pangaltabi on 20th April.

            In continuation of extending support to local people, two water bowsers of 7,500 liters each were sent by Kakching Battalion on 20th Apr 2020 at village Kakching Khunou and at villages Mahau Tera, Umathel , which fulfilled essential need of drinking water of approximately 400 families to meet their daily household necessities. Assam Rifles guaranteed their consistent help to remain by the people of Manipur in this overarching predicament.

            The villagers acknowledged the efforts of the Assam Rifles towards their goal of organizing numerous social welfare programs in the area of responsibility of battalion.
