Nagaland Govt freezes dearness allowance and dearness relief

This is in line with the decision of the Government of India issued vide Ministry of Finance

In view of the crisis arising out of COVID-19 pandemic, the State Government has decided that the Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief to State Government employees and pensioners respectively due from 1st January 2020, 1st July 2020 and 1st January 2021 shall not be paid. However, they shall continue to be paid at the current rates till further order.

This is in line with the decision of the Government of India issued vide Ministry of Finance OM No.1/1/2929-E-II(B) dated 23rd April 2020. Accordingly, as and when a decision is taken by the Government of India to release the future installment of Dearness Allowances due from 1st July 2021, the deferred enhancements of Dearness Allowances shall be prospectively restored and incorporated into the rate of July 2021 without arrears as specified in the OM dated 23rd April 2020 referred to above.
