Nagaland bans import of pigs

The decision of the State Government to ban the import of pigs from outside the state in view of the reported outbreak of “African Swine Fever” disease of pigs in the neighbouring State with immediate effect

Following the advisory issued by the Union Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying to all the North-Eastern States for strict bio-security and biosafety measures including restrictions on the movement of pigs, the Department of A.H & Veterinary Services Nagaland has issued a press release stating the decision of the State Government to ban the import of pigs from outside the state in view of the reported outbreak of “African Swine Fever” disease of pigs in the neighbouring State with immediate effect.
