Nagaland | Several Houses Affected By Landslide In Zunheboto

At least 5 houses have been severely affected owing to a landslide that occurred on the morning of 17th August at DC Hill West Colony, in Zunheboto town, including the office of the Home Guards, Zunheboto. No causalities have been reported as the alert residents had evacuated in advance. It was observed that there was no proper drainage system in place in the vicinity which had compounded the precarious situation contributing to the catastrophe as a result of the heavy rains/ downpour in Zunheboto over the past couple of weeks.

In another separate incident in Akuluto town heavy rainfall on 14th evening caused multiple landslides. One house was taken down and 4 more houses affected. One person was also injured in the incident.
