Apprehended three responsible persons one after another respectively in connection with the case

The Jiribam district police successful in tracking contraband drug king-pin after an interception of a huge consignment of contraband drugs on September 8.

As per police report, following an investigation in relation with the recovery of ten thousand number of WY tablets seized on September 8, 2020, and interception of a big consignment of 35000 bottles of banned “Intacodin” cough syrup by Jiribam police, the district police chased after the king-pin associates who deeply involved in the above crime.

Hence, apprehended three responsible persons one after another respectively in connection with the case.

Two apprehended persons who were involved in the crime are- Md. Josim Uddin (31 Yrs) S/o Ali Akbar of Lalpani Pt-II, Cachar, Assam; Abjol Hussain Laskar (28 Yrs) S/o Ali Akbar Laskat of Bakhal Pt-IV, Cachar, Assam residing at Jimmy Cottage, IB Road near Churachandpur College gate.

The police report stated that on the interrogation of the above apprehended it reveals that the accused Abjol Hussain Laskar camped at Churachandpur in a rental house for a past few years. He brought the contraband WY tablets from a lady drug paddler (Name not disclosed) at the rate of Rs. 25 per tablet.

Thereafter, the same will be smuggled towards Assam through his elder brother Md. Josim Uddin.

In continuation with the case one Thongam Govind Singh (28 Yrs) of Lilong Arapati Mayai Leikai, Thoubal District was also arrested.

On interrogation, Thongam Govind Singh reveals that he is a regular drug dealer of the same consignment for the past many years from Kolkata in the name of one M/s Yaipha Hidak Agency located opposite to Thoubal District Hospital (Presently unfunctional).

Further revealed that he brought 2000 bottles of banned cough syrup from the same agency in the month of June 2020, Stated in a press release issued by S.P, Jiribam M. Mubi Singh.

The cough syrup was sold and distributed to his close associates and drug users in and around Thoubal district at the rate of Rs- 350 to 400 per bottles for his personal gain, revealed by accused Thongam Govind Singh as per police report. The Jiribam District Police is always keeping an eye on vulnerable pockets where drugs may be brought in and prevent the tentacles of drugs in the district, Jiribam S.P, M. Mubi Singh added.
