I have evolved a philosophy of a ‘Pause button’ for myself

Peace is a word which is being most commonly misused, misconstrued and miscommunicated in today’s world dispensation, be it by the political class, academicians or in the family. We all want peace in our life, we give sermons on a peaceful co-existence and we get the messages to let peace prevail. The world is a chaos and we are the artist in this confusion of egos contributing to the conflict in some way or other. We are actually not in peace with ourselves.

This pandemic has shown us that more we are in conflict be it with nature, or our neighbour or a colleague, more we tend to fall in a ditch whose depth we cannot measure, that is full of distress and impurities. Today we will have to realise that the pandemic is not an act of God but an act of a Man. We have created our own miseries and God must be left with no option but to educate us with our own harsh reality.

A peaceful co-existence is possible only if we leave our biases, develop a loving mindset and try to live a peaceful life with ourselves. More we are at peace with ourselves, more we will develop the power to love, share and care. Peace is not a commodity that we can trade or acquire, it will evolve when we are at a stable state within ourselves.

Productivity, livelihood and economic sunshine is the very essence and need of our modern world. We can not shun our duties and work. ‘Work is worship’. We all know but what is the meaning of that worship where we crumble, crush and collide with each other. Today to maintain the acceleration of scientific lifestyle, we shall need to also find in between a precious commodity called “Peace”. Very precious, very cost effective but very simple to get also. It is found not in the outside world but is available within us. We are the Peace, We are the World. It is within us.

These pandemic has taught us many things if we can introspect. Different people must have got different realisation. For me, I have evolved a philosophy of a ‘Pause button’ for myself.  Whenever my mind races towards a negative thought process, I physically put my thumb into the pointing finger and press it, just like I would do to a remote button. ‘Pause’… Peace will follow….
