Vigilance Awareness Week -2020 (VAW) was observed at Numaligarh Refinery Limited in a befitting manner and with great enthusiasm from 27th October to 2nd November 2020 in line with directives from Central Vigilance Commission with the theme “ Vigilant India, Prosperous India ”.
VAW was inaugurated with virtual pledge taking ceremony at Refinery and all other locations of the Company through ‘Microsoft Teams”. E-integrity pledged was taken by employees in the designated website of Commission. Several activities were taken up by Vigilance department of NRL in line with Commission’s Directives to create awareness on Integrity, Honesty, Morality, Ethics etc. amongst NRL employees, CISF staff and students of schools nearby areas.
Competitions like Essay writing, Slogans, and Debate etc. were organized through online application and overwhelming responses were received during the week. A district level debate competition on the theme of Vigilance Awareness Week was organised in association with Numaligarh High School. A separate programme for about 12 schools in Dergaon town was organized for essay and slogans competitions on the Vigilance Awareness Week theme in association with Dergaon Senior Basic School. Essay and slogan competitions on the theme were also held amongst NRL employees, CISF staff and their family members. Training Department conducted a short duration online training programme with the resource person S.R Medhi, former Director (Technical) of NRL on the subject of ‘Corporate Governance & Preventive Vigilance Measures’ for our management staff as a part of Vigilance Awareness Week.
The main function of the Vigilance Awareness Week was held on 2nd November through ‘Microsoft Team’ in view of the current pandemic and about 90 employees of NRL attended the meeting. S. Sunil Jain, CVO of the Company conveyed his message through a video recording which was played in the meeting. HR, IIS and Corporate Communication Department shared the status of various activities taken up for strengthening internal processes including gender sensitization at workplace.
