Minister Vungzagin Valte was welcomed by hundreds of people in a rousing reception ceremony of being inducted as Cabinet Minister in the BJP led Ministry headed by Chief Minister N. Biren Singh at the constituency headquarter, Thanlon. The reception program was organized by Simte Chiefs.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister expressed his profound gratitude to the people for their persistent support which eventually brought a cabinet minister belt to the constituency. He urged the people to join hands together and fight for what is right, uphold peace and cooperate with the government officials.

Mannuamching, DC, Pherzawl, S. David Piaklian, SP, Pherzawl, Thienlaljoy Gangte, ADC, Lalthanzam, SDO, Thanlon, Dr. Phirthanglien, CMO, S. Zamzalam, EE/PWD, Lalhminglien, ZEO of Pherzawl district, Pumshong Hangshing, DI of Thanlon, chiefs from different villages apart from different dignitaries and CSO leaders attended the event.

Inaugurating a new school building of Thanlon Higher Secondary School constructed under ‘School Phagathansi’ mission at Thanlon Sub-Division headquarters, the minister said that the school under which free and good quality education was provided to the rural children was indeed a model worth emulating. He encouraged the people to embrace education as a vehicle for development and peace.

It reminds me of my childhood days and back to the roots, witnessing the first welcome gesture through cultural (Bamboo) dance performance at Damdiel Village by HSA Damdiel Branch. Feeling worth encouraging youngsters to preserve our cultural heritage. ~ Vungzagin Valte

The Minister warned the staff of any negligence in performing their duties with appropriate disciplinary action. The Minister also visited the proposed site for construction of Kendra Vidyalaya in the district headquarters to rebuild and restore the fading condition of education within his constituency.

Visiting different villages within his constituencies the last three days, the minister expressed his pleasure to be in the midst of his constituency people while impressing upon the need to be informed and also engaged with the community. Listening to the grievances of people over various issues, the minister received petitions from different civil societies and assured them that he would ask officials concerned to look into them and address it. He also gifted sports materials to the youth organizations and blankets to the aged persons in the villages he visited.
