NRL and OIL enter into MoU for augmentation of pipeline capacity

This arrangement will help NRL in product evacuation post Refinery expansion

Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL)  and Oil India Limited (OIL)  entered into an MoU on Friday to augment OIL’s existing pumping capacity through Numaligarh Siliguri Pipeline (NSPL) and increase product evacuation from 1.72 MMTPA to 5.50 MMTPA. The capacity enhancement of NSPL that carries Motor Spirit ( Petrol), HSD ( Diesel) and SKO( Kerosene) is expected to be commissioned by the later part of 2024 to synchronize with the commissioning of the NRL’ mega Refinery expansion project of from existing 3.0 MMTPA to 9.0 MMTPA. 

M. K. Pegu, Head (Project Pipeline) from NRL and Sandip Goswami CGM(OPS) Pipeline from Oil India Limited signed the MoU in presence of Secretary, Department of Public Enterprise, Govt. of India, Sailesh, MD NRL S. K Barua, CMD OIL SC Mishra, Director (Technical) NRLB.J. Phukan, Director (Finance) NRL Indranil Mittra, Director (Finance) OIL Harish Madhav and senior officials of both the Companies at NRL Corporate Office, Guwahati.

This arrangement will help NRL in product evacuation post Refinery expansion and accordingly OIL will replace NRL as project proponent for monitoring of the product pipeline project under National Infrastructure Projects (NIP).
