Malnutrition is a cause of concern for the district of Cachar in Assam. Keeping this in view, the capacity of Nutritional Rehabilitation Centre (NRC) in S. M. Dev Civil Hospital has been extended to 10 beds.
In a brief ceremonial programme, Keerthi Jalli, Deputy Commissioner, Cachar inaugurated the extended NRC at S. M. Dev Civil Hospital in presence of Dr. Sudip Jyoti Das, Jt. Director of Health Services, Dr. Jitendra Singh Hazari, I/C Superintendent., S. M. Dev Civil Hospital, Dr. S. K. Roy, paediatrician, i/c Nutritional Rehabilitation Centre, doctors and staffs of the hospital on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion Deputy Commissioner, Cachar Keerthi Jalli said” this will benefit a large section of parents whose children suffer complications due to Nutritional malfunction as the malnourished children will get Nutritional therapy under a paediatrician and trained nurses, in addition to that child of age group 6 months to 5 years will get free nutritional support for 15 days”.
“One guardian will also be given free diet during the hospital stay of the child”, she added.
