During the event, a motivational lecture was conducted on contributions of women and girls in the field of Science and Technology
Mantripukhri Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised celebrations to mark the International Day of Women and Girls in Science at Yourabung Village in Imphal East district of Manipur on 11 February.
With an aim to promote participation and contribution of women and girls in science, the International Day of Women and Girls in Science is celebrated on 11th of February and was implemented by UNESCO and UN Women, in collaboration with intergovernmental agencies and institutions, as well as civil society partners.
During the event, a motivational lecture was conducted on contributions of women and girls in the field of Science and Technology. Various roles being played by women and girls in various fields of science to include Space, medical Science and research were emphasized upon during the lecture.
In addition to that, the role of women on the front lines of COVID-19 response as scientists and health care workers was reiterated. 40 women and young girls attended the event.
