A large number of students participated in the signature campaign, rangoli design on voter awareness and took the pledge
On the occasion of “Basant Panchami”, a voter awareness programme was organised in collaboration with College authorities and District Administration Cachar at Gurucharan College, Cachar college and at Women’s College on Tuesday which aims at targetting youth voters and to motivate them to cast their votes in upcoming Assembly elections.
Deputy commissioner Cachar Keerthi Jalli graced the occasion along with Election Officer, Cachar, Navanita Hazarika, Assistant Commissioner Maria Tanim and circle officers Aditi Nunisa and Bikash Chetri. A large number of students participated in the signature campaign, rangoli design on voter awareness and took the pledge.
The theme of the programme was voter awareness and women empowerment.
Deputy Commissioner Cachar Keerthi Jalli said young voters should come forward and cast their valuable votes in the upcoming Assembly election. She also emphasized on women empowerment and described the youths of Cachar as the combination of innovation, creativity and energy.
A similar voter awareness programme was held at Cachar college on Tuesday where the chief executive officer of Zilla Parishad Cachar Dipshikha Dey along with Assistant Commissioner Cachar Vibhor Agarwal graced the occasion.
Dipshikha Dey spoke on the occasion, she said, “young voters are the future generations of our country, so please participate by casting your valuable votes in the assembly election”.
