The N C Hills Indigenous Students Forum (NCHISF) has decided that if NHAI does not start the maintenance work within 28th February, an indefinite road Blockade will be organized from 1st march 2021 stated NCHISF President David Keivom on Thursday.

Keivom stated that the ISF Harangajao Branch organized a joint meeting at Rekho near Harangajao to discuss NH-54E Jatinga-Harangajao road maintenance work & Compensation.

The meeting was attended by GBs, Student Leaders and Village Representatives of Harangajao areas.  Mentionable, the Ministry of Highway had sanction 54Cr for the maintenance of Jatinga to Harangajao but unfortunately only Jatinga to Miyungkro portion maintenance work was carried out even after their approach them several times.

As the monsoon season is nearing and if the maintenance work of the most critical portion Miyungkro to Harangajao stretch which is a sinking area is not started immediately the people will continue to face the same problem like the earlier so they have taken the decision to go for road blockade agitation if the NHAI authority fails to start the maintenance work from Miyungkro to Harangajao before the onslaught of monsoon.
