Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma is the designated Chief Minister of Assam and the political transition was smooth with Sarbananda Sonowal handing over the leadership of Assam to his Ministerial colleague without much bad blood surfacing.
It was an expected development and BJP leadership has been able to negotiate the transition with political decency and sharpness. All speculation, lobbying, and permutation are now rested aside and the Government of the day will take over from tomorrow. People of Assam have been assured once again that BJP means business and can look forward to meaningful governance.

Assam under his leadership is expected to see dynamism with him having secured the confidence of the top central leadership, the backing of most of of the MLAs, with the influence in other NE states as NEDA leader and a large mass follower, he no doubt has emerged as a Chief Minister who will mean business.
Assam needs political stability, regional peace, and integration of various communities living in its soil (for age immortal) and economic growth across the state. It is time for Assam to overcome its identity politics and join the mainstream economic growth engine and become a self-sufficient state.
Employment, industrial growth, regional hub, educational up-gradation, infrastructure development, human resource development, and an international destination for business is what will be expected from Dr. Sarma’s leadership.
He can be a successful statesman who can go down the history of Assam if he can transform the politics from the identity space to development space. It is a long march and only time will tell what beacons next but as an observer and an optimist, I believe some different and dynamic roadmap must be there in Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma’s plans and his governance style. We are all set to watch the next level of dynamism from his government…
