The members of Dimasa National Committee have been raising issues for the betterment of their people when it requires justice to the people
Following High Court order in the PIL (Public Interest Litigation) 4/2021 — Roton Hojai and 3 others versus State of Assam and nine others — on August 4, 2021, the district of Dima Hasao is to get Haflong Polytechnic College in 16 months informed the petitioners on Friday at Chotowapu, 25 km from Haflong.
They said the Gauhati High Court has clearly directed the PWD (B) and the other Departments to complete the construction works of the Polytechnic College at Chotowapu, Haflong in Dima Hasao District of Assam within 16 months from the date of order.
The order came on the assurance of the PWD (B) led by Chief Engineer, PWD (Building), Assam who apprised the High Court about the matter. He also assured the Court to complete the construction work within the fixed timeframe.
Adding further they said, the members of Dimasa National Committee have been raising issues for the betterment of their people when it requires justice to the people. The Haflong polytechnic college was a long-cherished dream of the people of Dima Hasao but even after starting the project long back was left in uncertainty. Expressing happiness over the success said they are here always to raise the voice against corruption and injustice meted out to the people. They have met several union ministers and also submitted a memorandum for the overall development of the district and said more good news for the district is coming which will be disclosed soon in front of the media and public.
Meanwhile, the Executive Engineer, Contractor, and other officials visited the site on Friday and assured that the works for the Haflong Polytechnic College have already started and would complete in the stipulated time.
At this, the people of Dima Hasao appreciated the move of the individuals and the organisations for which the Haflong Polytechnic College is about to be established ultimately.
