Closing date for filling online applications is 30th November 2021
University Grants Commission (UGC), Ministry of Education, Government of India has invited online applications for scholarships.
The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) was opened on 18.8.2021 for receiving application under the following four schemes for the Academic Year 2021-2022 like (1) Indira Gandhi PG Scholarship for Single Girl Child (SGC); (2) PG Scholarship for University Rank Holder candidate (URH); (3) Ishan Uday Special scheme for North Eastern Region (NER); (4) PG Scholarship for Professional Courses for SC/ ST candidates (PGSPROF).
The guidelines for each scheme may be accessed at ‘National Scholarship Portal’. The students who were eligible and admitted in the recognised institutions, as per the guidelines, may submit their applications through National Scholarship Portal on its website- https: // scholarships.gov.in/
The Portal was opened for receiving applications for ‘Fresh’ as well as ‘Renewals’ as per the following timelines:
Closing date for filling online applications is 30th November 2021. Closing date for Verification of applications by Institutions of students including re-submission of defective applications is 15th December 2021.
The students have been advised to submit their online applications well in time so that their institutions would able to verify applications within the prescribed timelines.
According to the notification issued by Secretary of UGC, Prof. Rajnish Jain vide F.No.82-2/ 2021 (SA-III) dated 22nd November 2021 directed the eligible Institutions to verify applications on their students immediately after receiving the applications on Portal. It would be in the interest of students, if all the applications were verified by Institutions by 10th December 2021, so that they would able to correct/ rectify the defected applications.
