To commemorate fifty years of glorious Dibarai Mahila Samity is celebrating its golden jubilee with two-day program at Dibarai Nohdrang Field from Saturday.

Today’s inaugural program was started with the hosting of Flag by Chief Guest Anupoma Naiding, a renowned writer, and was followed by the singing of DMS Anthem.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by renowned Dimasa writer Anupoma Naiding, as chief guest while Haflong MLA Nandita Gorlosa as the guest of honour. Executive member, NCHAC, Nipolal Hojao, Dibarai Village Committee, President Kumud Kemprai, Senior Journalist Anup Biswas, ADSU President Uttam Langthasa, DSU General Secretary Pramith Sengyung, Senior members of DMS, Senior citizens were present as the special invitees.

After Ho-Rao-Lim prayer floral tribute was paid to the beautifully decorated portrait of the founder president of DMS Late Nirupoma Hagjer who was also a prominent Dimasa writer and poet.

This was followed by Felicitation of Guests and invitees, Felicitation of Senior DMS Members, Opening Song, Cutting of celebration cake, Welcome address from DMS member, Baidima and Baimaijai dance.

MLA Gorlosa also inaugurated the exhibition stall wherein various traditional handicraft items were displayed.

This was followed by the release of DMS souvenir, Thangamin Khaojeb, Gonthai luguha rihgari.

Speaking on the occasion, all the speakers congratulated all the past and present members along with the advisors of the Dibarai Mahila Samity while appreciating the contribution of the DMS in maintaining peace and development in the society. They also pointed out how the DMS has been playing an important role in the overall development of society along with others. The contribution of DMS in the education and health sector always be appreciated by all they added.
