A portion of the beam joining around 2 feet in length at the female ward of Jiribam 50- bedded hospital collapsed on Friday night around 8 p.m.

After getting the report, while the media persons rushed to the spot it was found, the joining of two beams was mended by rhino board. However, the rhino board could not bear the loads of concrete debris which was left at the time of construction.

The debris, comprising mostly of large chunks of concrete, bricks and plastic sack scattered on the floor.

Fortunately, while the incidents occurred no patients was under the portion of the place where it had collapsed.

Talking with the media persons, a  family member of patient L. Harikumar Singh said two days ago a portion from the ceiling plaster of the room had also collapsed and fell down at the floor but the authority gave a blind eye even after they complained. He appealed to the authority to look into the matter before any incidents take place.
