In a tragic incident of mushroom poisoning one 60 years old person under Umrangso Police Station while was brought to Haflong civil hospital Sunday night.

It is learnt that at least 15 members of three families of 8 kilo area of Umrangso fell sick after consuming wild mushrooms on April 13. They were first admitted to Umrangso hospital but the condition of six persons deteriorated. Then they were referred to Haflong civil hospital but on the way, one breathed his last. He was identified as Manik Kurmi. Among six-person conditions of two persons were stated to be critical.
