54 people joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in his presence
The northeast BJP stalwart and Assam chief minister Dr. Himanta Biswas Sarma today visited Agartala. Himanta who is the chief of North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA), a conglomerate of NDA affiliated parties, landed at Agartala airport around 8 in the morning. He was received by a large number of party workers at the airport which Dr. Sarma also tweeted from Agartala.
A cavalcade of 20+ vehicles escorted Dr. Sarma to his engagements of the roadshow and party meetings. He had a brief discussion with Tripura BJP leaders including chief minister and party president Dr. Manik Saha and other leaders.
Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, West Bengal MP Locket Chatterjee, candidate Dr. Manik Saha and others participated in a roadshow this afternoon. They campaigned in support of BJP candidate Dr. Manik Saha from the Baradowali constituency.
Apart from this, the Manipur’s Minister for Sports & Youth Affairs and Public Works Gobindas K is also arriving here tomorrow to boost up the BJPs campaign for the four by-elections. Three by-election-bound constituencies in the state, 6-Agartala, Surma (SC), and Jubaraj Nagar have the presence of a considerable number of voters belonging to the Manipuri community. The Manipur minister Gobindas K. who is equally conversant in Bengali may add power to the BJP campaign for the June 23 by-elections.
Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma in another by-election meeting in the 6 Agartala assembly constituency, compared the Congress to an old note. And said Congress did nothing in the northeastern states since independence.
In the presence of the Assam Chief Minister this evening in Agartala, 54 people joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.
