Gaon Bura of Hevishe village of Nagaland who is also the convenor of Concern People of Nagaland, Kahuto Chishi while pointing out the poor economy of the State, felt that as responsible citizens one should come out and work in the business sectors with innovative ideas and thereby contribute towards the economy of the State. He was speaking while gracing the dedication programme of Taste of Kanglei an authentic Manipuri cuisine outlet opened by Major Vikuto Assumi on 28th July at Super Market Dimapur.

The special guest also encouraged the Naga youngsters not to depend only on government jobs but to come out of their comfort zone, take the risks, face challenges, and foray into different business ventures for their survival while also contributing to the state economy. The special guest launched the restaurant with the cutting of a ribbon.

Proprietor of Taste of Kanglei, Major Vikuto Assumi said that while serving in the Indian Army he was posted in Manipur from 2011 to 13 during which he fell in love with Manipuri food. Observing that there was no proper Manipuri thali restaurant in Dimapur, Major Vikuto took voluntary release from the Indian Army and mooted the idea of opening a decent Manipuri thali restaurant at Dimapur to make the people feel the Manipuri culture and also to know and understand our neighboring state closely through food and foster peace with a better relationship. He informed that he brought Manipuri cooks from Imphal and further said that rice and all the other ingredients to be used in the restaurant will be supplied from Manipur.

Located at Supermarket Dimapur, Taste of Kanglei is fully air-conditioned and will be kept open from 11 noon to 9 pm.

The dedicatory program was offered by Pastor Lhomithi Baptist Church Dimapur, Toluho Chishi.
