A discussion on Mikir Hills Autonomous District’s Administration of Justice, Rules, 1954 & Constitution of Village Council was officially organized at the conference hall of Arboretum Cum Crafts Centre, Diphu on Saturday under the chairmanship of Dr. Tuliram Ronghang, Chief Executive Member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council.
In the meeting, it was decided that an awareness program on “Traditional Village Court and Its Functioning” will be taken up across twenty six members of Autonomous Council Constituency areas of Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong autonomous district.

Raju Tisso Chairman Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Horensing Bey Member of Lok Sabha, MLA Darsing Ronghang and Bidya Sing Engleng, Executive Members, Member of Autonomous Council, previous Chief Executive Member Jotson Bey, Mojari Hanse, Joyram Engleng, Padmashree Dhaneswar Engti, president and secretary of Karbi literary body Karbi Lammet Amei and many distinguished personalities were present in the meeting.
It can be expected that the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council authority will soon set up traditional village courts in villages and will arrange the necessary infrastructure for its functioning.
