‘Khoj’ the sports and social organization of Silchar awarded Kshitish Chandra Chakraborty Smriti Banya Jodha Samman to those who risked their lives and stood by the helpless people during the last devastating floods in Silchar. The award was presented on Sunday.

The general secretary of the organization Sajal Laskar said that twenty three organizations from three districts of Barak Valley were felicitated on the occasion and five social workers were also felicitated.

The initiative has been taken to give social recognition to the contribution of various organizations who have given their support without the fear of their own lives in the difficult conditions during the devastating calamity and helped the flood affected people. He said that this effort is to acknowledge the significant contribution of the organizations towards the social service rendered which shall keep the fire of serving people alive.
