The documentary film project Re-Inkarnation has won the ‘DocEdge New Zealand Award’ in the Dhaka Doc Lab (www.dhakadoclab.org), which concluded on September 11, 2022. Manipuri filmmaker Bobo Khuraijam is the director-producer of the film.

The award qualifies filmmaker Bobo Khuraijam to pitch his documentary project Re-Inkarnation at the prestigious Doc Edge international film festival, to be held in New Zealand next year (www.docedge.nz). It is an encouraging sign for documentary filmmakers of Manipur to get such awards at international project forums like Dhaka Doc Lab.
The award was announced online during the closing function of the Dhaka Doc Lab by Alex Lee, representative of DocEdge New Zealand. Re-Inkarnation shares the award with two other projects namely: ‘In Search of the Morning Star’ and ‘Untying The Knot’, a South Asian and an Asia Pacific project respectively.
This year’s edition of Dhaka Doc Lab was from August 18 to September 10, 2022, in a hybrid format. Bobo Khuraijam’s Re-Inkarnation was selected among eight South Asian projects along with three Asia Pacific Projects. Dhaka Doc Lab is a project market for Asian and Asia Pacific documentary filmmakers which takes place annually in Bangladesh. This is the sixth edition of Dhaka Doc Lab.
