The software was the real scam

It is shocking to hear how many kinds of irregularities have happened with the NRC updation process in Assam. It is not possible to think at what stage the scandal has reached. As the days go by, things are getting revealed one by one. Former coordinator of NRC Hitesh Dev Sharma brought forward some such shocking information. As such, there is no such thing as a database in NRC. He had about 2300 databases only he says.

After checking them, he found that 40 percent of the names of those who are not supposed to be mentioned have been mentioned. In other words, their names cannot be accepted according to the NRC rules. So if a random test detects 40 percent errors, then it can be estimated how many such errors or scams have occurred. And it certainly cannot be termed as human error. It can be assumed to be a planned fraud.

There is also a problem with the software installed. In the software that was developed in the NRC database, there is no correlation between the above and the below. That is, if the database staff makes a mistake in data entry, then the officers above will not be able to catch it. This is not the end. Let’s assume that a person’s data is uploaded.

But this information is not in the software. As a result, the upper floor officers are not getting any information. That is, it has been done intentionally kept that way and not rectified from the planning stage itself. No adjustments were made. This suggests that this was done deliberately. So that the names of many illegal citizens can be added to the list.

Another piece of information was found about NRC. Hitesh Dev Sharma said in an affidavit in the Supreme Court that there were irregularities in verifying the correctness of any information in the back on verification. For example, any document of NRC application is sent to the concerned office for verification. From there the result came “No”. That is, they did not give this document. After scrutinizing 24 lakh such applications, 13 lakh documents where “no” was stated as “yes”.

By what magic did these ‘no’ bullets become ‘yes’? Hitesh Dev Sharma has said this in his affidavit. And this work is looked after by DMI. ie District Magisterial Investigation Team. Various questions have been raised about the composition of this team. It is alleged that this has been done without the consent of the Supreme Court. Where every work of NRC is supposed to be under the supervision of the Supreme Court. And the brain of the then NRC coordinator Pratik Hajela worked behind all the scams.

Hitesh Dev Sharma brought these facts forward in a different interview. It is unthinkable that there can be such a big corruption in such a matter. Work has been done in a very planned manner. The NRC is that people have become completely independent. It is unimaginable that the NRC has been played with by someone so much. Now one scandal after another is coming forward. Earlier, in an Accounts General Report, it is found that about Rs 155 crore in salary scams are being found in relation to the outsourcing employees engaged for database entry.

Thus an initiative was taken to darken the future of the people. Recently, Hitesh Dev Sharma said that he found out this information as a responsible officer. Now the question is whether the Supreme Court will accept this scandalous NRC. Where the information has been filed and it has been said that there has been a scam. 1602 crore was given for NRC.

Most of this money went into scams. Besides the money scandal, on the other hand, the interests of common people have been neglected. And the names of many genuine citizens have been omitted. A large part of them is Bengalis. This is the result of the NRC that was done with so much hype.
