Encouraging the beneficiaries to be regular with their repayment of loans, Minister said that the Assam government as per their decision started Category II of the Assam Finance Incentive and Relief Scheme by October 2022
Assam Minister for Power, Cooperative, Mines & Minerals, etc Nandita Gorlosa distributed cheques to two women beneficiaries who had taken loans under microfinance institutions initiated by the government. The programme was held at the DC conference hall in Haflong organized by District Administration, Dima Hasao.
Welcoming all the people present during the programme, DC Nazreen Ahmed briefed about the objective of this welfare scheme which provides relief to the poor and underprivileged people in order to give them the opportunity to advance their financial condition by setting up their own businesses or shops.
Addressing the women beneficiaries and people present during the meeting Minister Nandita Gorlosa urged that various schemes provided by the government for the underprivileged be used judiciously so that the economy of urban areas as well as those in rural areas can be strengthened. Encouraging the beneficiaries to be regular with their repayment of loans, Minister said that the Assam government as per their decision started Category II of the Assam Finance Incentive and Relief Scheme by October 2022. This Category II includes borrowers whose payments are overdue and will receive one time incentive.
The two women beneficiaries from Dima Hasao viz. Sipra Rani Das and Rubi Das received Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 7,739 respectively today through the hands of the Minister in presence of Deputy Commissioner Nazreen Ahmed. Others present were ADCs R Mazumder and L Khiengte, Asst. Commissioner Ibon Teron and L Naiding, DIPRO P Phonglo, officials from Bandhan Bank and HDFC Bank, and others.
