NEWS 1- The winter session of the Parliament is starting on Wednesday, December 7. And will continue until December 29. A total of 17 working days will be available out of these 23 days. An all-party meeting was held in Parliament on Tuesday on the eve of the winter session. Leaders of various political parties attended the meeting.

The all-party meeting was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi, Union Minister Piyush Goyal, Trinamool Congress MP Sudeep Banerjee, Derek O’Brien, Shiromani Akali Dal’s Harsimrat Kaur Badal, DMK MP TR Balu and others. According to sources, the government is planning to introduce 16 bills in this winter session. Congress can take up the border issue with China.

NEWS 2- A terrible incident took place at Sonari Sadar police station of Assam’s Charaideo district. A policeman lost his life in the firing of his teammates. A police officer named Gokul Basumatari was killed in the firing. Basumatari was shot three times in the neck. He died immediately. This incident created a sensation in the area.

NEWS 3- For five years if there is no strike, Assam will become a golden state. Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma made this comment. He said that this state has suffered a lot in the ‘dharna’ movement. Therefore, he urged to refrain from the politics of strikes.

NEWS 4- India’s GDP growth rate will be 6.9 percent. The World Bank has predicted this. Growth will reach this level in February-April 2023. The Indian economy has been improving for the last few months. The last three months have been slightly better than what the World Bank had predicted earlier.

NEWS 5- A lorry burst into flames in Mizoram. The incident took place on Tuesday around 3:30 pm on Silchar-Aizawl National Highway No. 306. A 12-wheeler lorry loaded with cement was gutted by fire near Sairong Bhusali Bridge in Mizoram. The exact cause of the fire is not yet known. Eyewitnesses said that they first heard the loud sound of tires bursting. The lorry then burst into flames within a few moments.

It is believed that the lorry’s front wheel burst and friction on the road may have caused the fire. The fire engine reached the spot and tried to put out the fire. However, the truck driver and co-driver are reported to be unharmed.

NEWS 6 -This time, 14 students were expelled for ragging in Silchar Dental College. After the ragging incident at Dibrugarh University, the incident of ragging happened at Silchar Dental College. There has been a commotion across the state of Assam, because of this ragging and now Silchar Dental College also faced a similar incident. The accused 14 students have already been expelled from the hostel. On the 1st of this month, an incident of ragging of a first-year student took place in the college.

Then the ragging victim student filed a complaint with the Central Entry Ragging Squad Committee. And the Central Entry Raging Squad directed the Deputy Commissioner of Cachar to investigate. DC constituted a committee to investigate and immediate action was taken against 14 students. The accused 14 students were expelled from the college hostel.

The accused are third and fourth-year students of Silchar Dental College informed Manjula Das, Principal of the Dental College.

NEWS 7- Silchar Polytechnic college student election resulted in a tense situation where police had to resort to the ‘lathi charge’. Silchar Polytechnic College student council election was held on Tuesday morning. The results were announced in the afternoon. Then the excitement began. A group of students complained that the winning students pelted the losing students with stones and a student was injured in the incident. He was immediately rushed to Silchar Medical College Hospital. The police reached the premises of the Polytechnic College after receiving information about the incident.

The police had to resort to the ‘lathi charge’ to bring the tense situation under control. Even the CRPF was deployed on the premises of the Polytechnic College. Meanwhile, Sanjeev Sinha, Principal of the Polytechnic College, said that although the election was completed smoothly, someone threw stones and injured a student in the afternoon. And with this the situation became heated.
