NEWS 1- On Monday, the Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court said that the demonetisation decision was legally valid. It also said that the Center took the decision to demonetise after six months of discussions with the Reserve Bank.

Along with this, the Supreme Court dismissed all the cases against demonetisation. Several questions were raised about the decision of the Center to cancel the demonetisation. Like, was it Modi’s sole decision, or the announcement was done after discussions with the Reserve Bank? What was the parliamentary process? What are the benefits for the country as a result of the cancellation of notes?

A total of 58 cases were filed in the Supreme Court on such questions. For the past few months, the hearing of which was going on in the five-judge constitutional bench headed by Chief Justice Abdul Nazir.

The Supreme Court on Monday said that no financial decision of the central government can be changed. Even if we deliberate on how the decision was taken, the Centre’s decision cannot be changed. Also, the judges said that the decision was taken by the Center after a discussion with the Reserve Bank.

NEWS 2- The Bombay High Court dismissed the writ petition to convict the accused in the Malegaon bomb blast case. One of the accused was MP Pragya Swamy. The explosion killed five people.

NEWS 3- The central government informed that the GST collection rate increased by 15 percent in December. The amount of GST collected in a month is one and a half lakh crore. Incidentally, the GST collection was reduced considerably in November. November was the lowest GST collection in three months.

The Center has also informed that the amount of GST for ten consecutive months is 1 lakh 40 thousand crores. But there are alarming statistics as well. The unemployment rate in India is the highest in the last 16 months.On the first day of the new year, the center released the GST calculation for December.

NEWS 4- There is no movement in Assam for the last one year. This has improved the state’s finances. Commenting on this, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has just said that agitation does not lead to development.

Now all problems are solved through discussion. Oil production increased by 15 percent due to no such social movement.It has been possible to give jobs to one lakh unemployed people without agitation. He congratulated the people of the state for not supporting any agitation.

NEWS 5- A 12-year-old boy died after being hit by a bike in Kashipur in the Cachar district of Assam. The incident took place near the Kashipur CRPF camp on the Assam-Manipur National Highway.

12-year-old Noor Hossain Majumder was hit by a speeding motorcycle bearing AS 10D 7163. The motorcyclist along with the locals immediately rescued Noor and took him to Silchar Medical College and Hospital. Later, the doctor on duty at the hospital declared Noor dead. Once Noor’s death was declared, the motorcyclist escaped secretly.

NEWS 6- BJP’s Udharband Mandal Minority Morcha vice-president Suhail Ahmed tragically died in a head-on collision with a truck. This incident has spread intense reactions in the area. The agitated crowd set the truck on the fire. The incident took place on January 1 at around 11 pm in the five mile area of Udharband constituency of Cachar district of Assam.

According to police sources, Suhail Ahmed was driving a small car from Silchar to his house in the second block of Jhapirband. But his car collided head-on with the truck coming from the opposite direction and smashed the front of the car.. As a result, Ahmed was seriously injured. After the accident, the driver of the truck escaped.

Meanwhile, after the accident, the excited mob set on fire the truck. Police officers from Udharband police station and the fire brigade rushed to the spot after receiving the information.Then Suhail Ahmed was sent to Silchar Medical College Hospital with serious injuries. But the doctor declared him dead.
