Diphu :  Two persons lost their life in a train mishap including a woman yesterday. Railway police suspect that in both the cases they were mowed down by a train engine. Disfigured bodies were found on railway tracks in Karbi Anglong district.

The body of an anonymous individual aged around thirty five years was found on the railway tracks near Doldoli railway station around fourteen kilometers from Diphu. Railway police have supposed that the victim somehow was knocked out of a moving train.

Police have preserved the person’s remains in the morgue as the victim’s identity is still undisclosed. Police are trying to find out from which train the person fell off and the possible time of the accident.

In a different occurrence, an elderly woman aged around fifty years was mowed down by a train engine near Diphu railway station around 11:30 am, the lady died instantly; rail authority after retrieving the mortal remains have sent the mutilated corpse for post mortem.
