Diphu :The primary stage of Gunotsav 2023 has commenced across Karbi Anglong district for self-assessment of the schools from yesterday. In this phase 1342 schools of the district will be enclosed in this round. After the self-evaluation, three day long of external evaluation will be done by external evaluators.
Executive Member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council in charge Education Department Richard Tokbi has told the local media that all government and provincial-zed Lower Primary, Upper Primary and High Schools located within seven development blocks of Karbi Anglong will be covered.
Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Executive Member Prabhat Chandra Taro visited as External Evaluator, Gunotsav 2023 at Adarsh Hindi School located in Diphu town today.
A number of high profile bureaucrats including college and university teachers also elected public representatives will take part as external assessor. A total of 644 external evaluators will evaluate 542 schools on day one, 457 schools on next day and 343 schools on day three.
Chief Executive Member of the council Tuliram Ronghang visited some schools located within Lumbajong block for evaluation today. Richard Tokbi remained present as external evaluator in Semsonsing Ingti Memorial School and Artungso Lower Primary School situated within Lumbajong block.
Gunotsav is observed by Assam government to make certain the learning enhancement and achievement or learning outcomes by all children at elementary level and to assess the performance of schools in areas that are curricular, co-curricular, availability and utilization of infrastructure, community participation etc.
The program is an enormous initiative to estimate the quality of learning, teachers and students are immensely benefited from this course. First the Gujarat government initiated Gunotsav and was taken up by Sarbananda Sonowal led BJP government of Assam in 2017.Gunotsav is a quality improvement programme where external evaluators are deputed to the schools for conducting external evaluations of students. Gunotsav means ‘the celebrating quality in schools’.
