Hironmoy (Tuku) Roy, retired development officer of National Insurance Company, resident of Lochan Bairagi Road, Silchar Bilpar area, is no more. He breathed his last at Silchar Medical College Hospital at 3:25 am on Thursday. He was 62 years old. At the time of his death, he left his wife Silchar Radhamadhav College Vice Principal Dr. Ashima Roy, two daughters Ankita Roy Bari and Archismita Roy respectively, son-in-law Anirudha Bari, granddaughter Advika Bari aka Kuhu and many other well-wishers and relatives.
Among the girls, Ankita is married. She lives in Mumbai with her husband Anirudha and both of them are involved in the animation profession. Younger daughter Archismita is a post graduate. According to family sources, Hironmoy babu was healthy till Wednesday. He also organized Vishnu Puja at home during the day.
Not only did the problem occur late at night. He suddenly started having shortness of breath. Around 1 am he was taken to Silchar Medical College Hospital. He died there while undergoing treatment. Later on the same day, the cremation of the deceased was done at the Silchar.
It is known that Mr. Hironmoy retired from service in 2021. He worked with honesty all his life. He was the General Secretary of All India Field Workers Association of Barak Valley Zone in the year 1997-98. He was awarded three years consecutively from 2012-13 to 2014-15 under GRO for his excellent performance in Premium Procurement.
The unassuming, soft-spoken Hironmoy was loved by all. He was closely involved in various service works. His family and acquaintances are saddened by his sudden death.
