Haflong : The newly constructed building of Haflong police station was formally inaugurated by Inspector General of Police, Central Range, Devojyoti Mukherjee, IPS in presence of Dima Hasao DC Simanta Das, SP Mayank Kumar and other police officers on Wednesday.
The IG also inspected the new building wherein all branches of police offices and facilities are brought together in one complex.Following this IGP Mukherjee meet ex-policemen and family members of policemen those who lost their live in the line of duty.
The building has been constructed under ‘Mission for overall improvement of Thana for responsive image’ or MOITRI a scheme for redevelopment of police station with several new facilities and to upgrade any type of backdated facility and use a modern and scientific human approach to make police stations more approachable and helpful to people.

The building have been constructed with a budget of 1.65 cr with a reception, separate room enclosure for women and children, room for counseling, separate lock up for male females, cabin for police officers and other modern facilities.
Addressing the media IGP said Haflong police station was established in 26th June 1949 and covers a jurisdiction of 1385 square kms with 163 revenue villages and 95 registered Village Defence Party (VDP) with one out-post and two patrol post.
The present strength of the police station is 1 police inspector, 6 sub-inspectors, 3 sub-inspectors (probationers), 2 assistant sub-inspectors, 4 head constables, 24 UB constables and 6 WB constables.
