Diphu :  In an awful occurrence, a student of Diphu Medical College and Hospital has supposedly committed suicide by hanging himself in his hostel, today.

The victim student has been identified to be Kamal Brahma by the Principal of Diphu Medical College and Hospital Dr. Sumitra  Hagjer to the local press. She mentioned that the departed was a resident of Bokajan subdivision of Karbi Anglong district.

Dr.  Hagjer while briefing the local media at her official chamber presumed that, under all probability the boy was suffering from mental depression because of his pitiable performance in the semester exams of the first-year MBBS, this led him to take the severe step of quitting from life.

The outcome of the first-semester examination was declared four days back and the victim failed in all the three papers; today all the unsuccessful students were send for by their faculty teacher for some academic purpose.Diphu police meanwhile have registered a case and has sent the body of the deceased for autopsy in the medical college itself.
