Diphu : In the continuing road mishaps in national highway which have claimed uncountable dead and injury a compact truck swerved off the road at Lokhilangso locality within the jurisdiction of Bokajan Police Station on Friday evening.

Police have informed that the mishap occurred around 7:30 pm, the truck bearing registration number AS01NC4009 proceeding towards Dimapur turned off the road while negotiating a sharp bend in the vicinity of Lokhilangso Catholic Church. 

The driver and handyman of the truck managed to sneak out of the cabin before the truck turned turtle and ran off the accident site. Bokajan police later retrieved the vehicle using heavy apparatus and kept it under their custody. Locals and police have expressed the need for installing road signs in that spot to avoid more accidents.
