Workshop cum Consultative programme on Protection of Child Rights
Haflong : One Day Convention on Child Rights, a workshop cum consultative programme on protection of child rights was organized by National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) in collaboration with the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council at District Library Auditorium, Haflong on Monday.
The programme was attended by Chief Executive Member of Dima Hasao Autonomous Council, Debolal Gorlosa is grace as a Chief Guest along with EMs of DHAC Nepolal Hojai, Devojit Bathari, Projith Hojai, Bijit Langthasa, Namrothang Hmar, Ramgalungbe Jeme and MAC Fleming Rupsi.
The programme begins with the lighting of lamp by Chief Guest, followed by welcome speech which was delivered by Secretary DHAC Debanon Daulagupu.
Later, a keynote was addressed by Rupali Benarjee, Member Secretary, NCPRC said that the constitution of India being the guiding light in governing the nation, guarantees equal rights to all its citizens several rights to all citizens rights have guaranted to the children in the constitution of India. Such as equality before laws, free and compulsory law, free and compulsory primary education to the children of the age group of 6-14 years, forced child labour and trafficking of child.
In the programme addressing the gathering, CEM Debolal Gorlosa also spoke a few important words about the current situation on child rights in reference to the Dima Hasao district. He said that we should take efforts to protect on child from young itself, so that they don’t get addicted to any narcotic, drugs and alchohol.
Others present during the programme were, Principal Secretary Thai Tsho Daulagupu, ACS and Secretary DHAC Debanon Daulagupu, Mrs Rupali Benarjee, Member Secretary of NCPRC and other dignitaries. There were also teachers and students in the programme.
