Kurukshetra – ‘To change the mindset and uplift consciousness among Indians, we celebrate birth anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar as SATYAKAMA DIVAS (Day to Seek the Truth) . About a thousand years before the time of Mahabharata, Rishi Gautama addressed a child by the name Satyakama — one who seeks the truth— because of the Truth the child spoke.
He was a son of an abused slave dalit woman who did not know who fathered him. By accepting him, Rishi Gautama proclaimed to the world that such a childlike pure heart could only be that of a Brahmin. Satyakama grew up with him as a Brahmin student and is remembered forever for his scintillating contribution to Chhandogya Upanishad’.
By dint of intelligence and strong mind, Ambedkar fought the adverse circumstances and shined as an expert in jurisprudence. Reminding us of Swami Vivekananda’s declaration from Rig Veda (10/13/1) addressing all humans as “amritasya putra” “Children of Immortal Bliss”, Mahatma Gandhi embraced the dalits as “harijan” “Children of God” and started a vigorous struggle for their rights.
By giving pure love to harijan, the Mahatma showed the power of human mind, and proclaimed that Consciousness was the Crown of Life, and Love was the Crown of Consciousness. Thousands of people in India followed the Mahatma and embraced harijan as their own.
Thanks to the self-cleansing capacity of Hinduism, when India achieved freedom on August 15, 1947, Ambedkar was invited to shape a new India by writing the Constitution.
It would be relevant to adopt the canons of public expenditure advocated by Bharat Ratan Dr .B. R. Ambedkar in terms of the faithfulness to the intentions of the will of the people, wisdom as provided by the professionals in the field, coupled with well-considered and honest judgment, and economy in execution which falls in the domain of needonomics.
Universal, Causeless Love will make us see every human being as a spark of Divinity — irrespective of caste and creed. Happy Birthday to Bharat Ratan Dr BR Ambedkar! Needonomics School of Thought, Kurukshetra
