Dimapur: A 25-year-old college girl was allegedly shot dead in Dimapur on May 8 midnight at Zeliangrong colony, Dhobinallah area. According to DCP (Crime) and PRO Dimapur police the deceased was identified as one Supou P, pursuing her MA in History at Unity college, Dimapur.

PRO said that Supou was shot dead by her boyfriend identified as one Thingiu Khiam (36), who is reportedly a deputy kilonser of NSCN Khango group

PRO said that soon after the incident, the victim was rushed to a private hospital, but succumbed to gunshot injury.In this connection, PRO said the suspect along with his bodyguard, one Mongchen Khiam (37), had been arrested.

PRO also informed that one modified AK rifle with two magazines and 55 live rounds of 7.65mm ammunition, one country made .32 pistol with one empty case, two sets of walkie talkie and one soft top Gypsy (white) NL 07C 1639 were seized. PRO added that a case has been registered under relevant Sections of Law and investigation was underway.

Khiamniungan Tribal Council, Naga Students’ Federation, All Nagaland College Students’ Union and Khiamniungan Students’ Union have separately condemned the incident and demanded justice for the victim.
