Diphu :   Authority of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council has decided reposition the Statue of Karbi legend “Rongpharpi Rongbe” from its present location of DM Road near the Karbi Anglong Sports Association stadium to a new site at 5th Mile, Diphu-Manja Road, to smooth the progress of the new flyover of Diphu town.

The Statue of Karbi “Rongpharpi Rongbe” is attached with the sentiment and emotion of the Karbi community and has religious attachment with a large section of Karbi people. The authority has to say that “the monument would lose its majestic looks because of the elevated height of the Fly-Over and more so because the monument would be relegated beneath the Fly-Over” 

 Additional Chief Engineer, PWD (Road &Building) division Hills, Assam, Diphu has been entrusted for its preservation and has been asked to submit a plan and ballpark figure for scalping of the memorial at the planned site.
