BJP’s southern dreams vanishes
New Delhi: Indian National Congress is set to win the Karnataka Assembly Election. At the time of filing of the story at 5.30 PM out of 224 assembly seats Indian National Congress had won 121 seats and is leading in 25 seats. Whereas BJP had won 56 seats and was leading in 8 seats. JD(S) had won 18 seats and leads in 2 seats.
Several siting ministers have been defeated in Karnataka verdict which BJP will definitely have to introspect. Congress is giving credit to Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra to be the main catalyst for the peoples verdict in favour of Congress.
Rahul Gandhi has termed the victory as victory of love and defeat of politics of hatred.
Opposition party leaders across party line are welcoming the verdict. ” The people of the country can see a ray of hope in voters of Karnataka ” said Mehbooba Mufti former J&K Chief Minister.
Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, “I congratulate the people of Karnataka. They have sent a message across the state that public wants a politics that resolves their issues, a politics where their issues are discussed”.
Celebration are taking place across the country in Congress offices. Meanwhile Congress party has asked all its newly elected MLAs to reach Bengaluru. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Congress party on its win in Karnataka.He tweeted, ‘My best wishes to them in fulfilling people’s aspirations “.
